Spending the Day at Snowcat Ridge

December 14, 2021 Hanny 3 min read No Comments

If you’re looking for snow in Florida, check out Snowcat Ridge. This alpine snow park offers visitors of all ages a unique experience.

Located in Dade City, Snowcat Ridge is the first snow park in Florida. The park has a 400-foot-long snow tubing hill and a 10,000-square foot indoor snow play area.

Aside from the popular snow tubing hill, Snowcat Ridge also has ice skating, food, shops and so much more.

Snowcat Ridge

It’s easy to spend the day at Snowcat Ridge, especially with all the fun activities you’ll find at this snow park.

Snowcat Ridge

Arctic Igloo

One of the first things I did when I got to Snowcat Ridge was the Arctic Igloo.

Inside the Arctic Igloo you’ll find a snow play area, where folks of all ages play in snow. The temperature in the igloo hovers around 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

It is recommended to wear layers as the temperatures change and since Florida is usually a hot state, you may just want those layers.

Snowcat Ridge

Eskimo Outpost

New this year, the Eskimo Outpost are private igloos great for parties, company events and family outings.

These igloos can fit up to 20 guests and there’s also a private fire pit for roasting s’mores. The Eskimo Outpost also offers unlimited bottled water for all guests at Refreshers.

Snowcat Ridge

Snowy Slopes

If you’d like to try snow tubing, then check out the snowy slopes. This attraction is a 60-foot tall, 400-foot long snow tubing hill. You can go by yourself, with someone else or with the entire family.

To get to the top, visitors are transported using a pair of moving sidewalk conveyor lifts.

Each General Admission ticket includes a 2-hour snow tubing session, but if you’d like all day snow tubing, visitors are welcome to upgrade to the Unlimited Snow Tubing upgrade.

Ice Skating

New for 2021, The Crystal Ribbon is an ice skating ribbon. This is also included with general admission and there is no time restriction as this is accessible all day. Visitors can bring their own skates or they can rent the ice skates.

The ice skating ribbon was absolutely fun and it is also very beginner friendly as well.

The Alpine Village

This is where you can eat, drink and relax. I really enjoyed the Alpine Village. It has a campfire near the slopes where you can watch people on the snow tubes slide down. If you’re not really wanting to relax, there is also a gift shop and a variety of food and drink outlets.

When wandering around the Village Alpine food court, you’ll find four brand new food trucks serving a variety of food and a Biergarten.

Additional Information

Snowcat Ridge is a fun place to go to. It’s great for families, friends and going solo. However, there are a few things to know before making your way there.

  • Depending where you are coming from, the gps may take you to the back road of Snowcat Ridge. If you do end up on the back road, you will need to keep going and make a left to get to the front part.
  • If you cannot find the front gate to Snowcat Ridge, there is a gate on the back road, which gives you an address to the front.
  • There is a $15 parking fee, which you can pre-purchase online.
  • Dress in layers. Florida can get hot and cold, but the temperatures in the Arctic Igloo hover around 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

Disclaimer: I did receive complimentary admission, but all opinions are my own.
