Choosing the perfect hotel or resort in Orlando, Florida, can be daunting, especially when this city is full of beautiful hotels and resorts. We have so many options, and it doesn’t get any easier for visitors heading to the theme parks. But what if I told you, you didn’t need to stay at one of Disney’s official hotels to be close to the theme parks and have a shuttle take you to the most magical place on earth? That’s where Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort comes in.
A few days ago, I had the opportunity to embark on a guided tour of the Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort, and what I discovered left me impressed. From the relaxing lazy rivers to the luxurious accommodations, Bonnet Creek has so much to offer. While you can find a majority of information on the website about the resort’s amenities, some offerings aren’t listed on their website.
In this article, you will find an overview of my tour, more information on these unlisted offerings, a look inside one of their rooms, the amenities, and the food.

Bonnet Creek Resort
Located near Disney, Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort offers visitors the opportunity to stay near the parks. While this beautiful resort is not part of the Disney resorts, it does offer guests plenty to do, so you don’t have to go to Disney but if you do end up going to the theme parks, it’s less than a mile away.
Accessibility
If you’re looking for an accessible resort, Bonnet Creek Resort is quite accessible. They have accessible rooms, self-parking, routes, shops, and restaurants. They also have visual alarms for the hearing impaired.
Activities
One surprising aspect of Bonnet Creek Resort is the variety of activities, which aren’t heavily advertised or listed on their website. These activities are exclusively for resort guests, unlike some hotels where non-guests can participate.
While there are so many activities at the Bonnet Creek Resort such as junk food bingo, karaoke, Polynesian Luau show, and rum tasting for adults, I won’t go into too much detail on these. However, I will highlight some of my favorite ones.
Character Yoga
When I first walked into the Bonnet Creek Resort, I noticed Princess Jasmine talking to kids. This intrigued me as I didn’t expect to see a Disney character in Bonnet Creek Resort. But here I was talking to Princess Jasmine, who had just been in a Yoga class earlier that morning.
Bonnet Creek Resort offers unique yoga classes led by Jess, an instructor who infuses fun into the yoga classes. These yoga classes are themed, featuring princesses, a superheroes, and more into the Yoga classes. These classes take place on Wednesdays at 10 am.
Duck Races
During the tour, we encountered a few tables with blue tubes. I wasn’t sure what I was looking at until the guide held up rubber ducks. These rubber ducks were then placed behind the black line on the blue tube and using the pump, we raced the ducks.
While guests can use these at any time of the day for impromptu races, the resort does host official duck races on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm. The winner gets to take home a big rubber duck.

Feeding Ducks
I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that guests can feed ducks. The resort has little packets of food for these feedings.
Fun Fact
The ducks you see with a fluffy, feathered tuft on top of their heads are called Crested Ducks.
SeaWorld Suite at Bonnet Creek Resort
During my guided tour, I had the opportunity to visit the SeaWorld Suite! In celebration of SeaWorld’s 60th anniversary, Bonnet Creek created this fun penguin-themed suite inspired by the all-new Antarctica Realm. If you haven’t been to the new realm, it is home to the new coaster, Penguin Trek.
I was blown away by this suite – the decorations, the fun details, the snow cone machine! This is the perfect family stay. Guests who book suites and are lucky enough to snag the SeaWorld suite this summer, will score a free one-day park admission for four to SeaWorld, plus a Penguin Encounter, All Day Dining, and more. There are also some goodies inside that you get to keep.

While this is the first time I’ve seen Club Wyndham do this in Orlando, they have done this in the past on one of their New York properties, but the theme of that suite was Elf. I know I’m jealous I didn’t get to stay there!
But thankfully, I got a chance to see the beautiful SeaWorld Suite, which showcases Club Wyndham’s attention to detail and commitment to creating the most memorable experiences for guests.
While the SeaWorld Suite is only available for the summer, their rooms without the decorations are just as nice. It is comfortable with plenty of room to move around and you also have plenty of options depending on how many are in your party.

Resort Amenities
Whether planning a solo trip or a family trip to Bonnet Creek, this resort is a nice stay. While I did spend a few hours on a guided tour, I had the opportunity to walk around and try out the resort’s amenities. The highlights of my day included:
- Relaxing in one of the lazy rivers
- Enjoying the various pools
- Lounging in a private cabana
Even with a limited timeframe, I was able to experience a taste of what the Resort offers.
Cabanas
I appreciate any resort that has cabanas available to rent. Especially since we live in Florida and it gets hot during the summer. After I was done with the guided tour, I had the opportunity to enjoy the cabana. These cabanas offer:
Lazy Rivers and Swimming Pools
Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort has 5 outdoor pools, 2 lazy rivers, and multiple hot tubs. With so much space on the property, it’s easy to get from one pool to the other and there is room for everyone even when it’s crowded.
One thing I noticed while checking out the resort is the Mediterranean-inspired design with family-friendly elements such as the pirate-themed pool area. As I lounged in the cabana, I sat across from the large pirate ship, which had a water slide and a nice pool perfect for the summer!
Of course, aside from the lazy rivers and pools, Bonnet Creek Resort has many more amenities to offer its guests. They have a fitness center, shuffleboard areas, arcade games, and more.
Shuffleboard and Mini-golf
By now, you must be realizing that there is a plethora of resort amenities and an endless schedule of activities. Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort did a great job thinking of ways to entertain guests and what better way than by adding a shuffleboard area and a mini-golf course?
And if you think your kids won’t play mini-golf, guess again. I saw a few kids playing with their parents, and they seemed to be having a great time.
Fire Pit and BBQ
Now, something I noticed throughout the resort was the BBQ areas. That’s right! you can grill on the property and take your food to your suite. After all, the suites do have a kitchen. So if you prefer not to eat out, that’s alright you can grill, cook, and just have a good time. If you’re ever in the area for the Fourth of July, this would be the place to stay to get the all-American July 4th experience.
While the resort has numerous amenities perfect for the summer, Bonnet Creek also has amenities for the winter such as the fire pit. Believe it or not, Florida does become cool during the Winter Season – we’ve gone anywhere from 60-degree weather to 30-degree weather. This is why there is a fire pit, to enjoy during cooler months.
Arcade Games and Entertainment
A few more resort amenities worth mentioning are the arcade game room and Art Studio. While I’ve seen arcade game rooms in other resorts, I have never seen an art studio in a resort before, especially one with a build-your-own stuffed animal machine. Aside from that the families can work on some art and anything that happens to be scheduled for the day.
There is also a ping-pong table, a playground, and an herb garden! If you’re cooking your meal, you can pick some herbs from the garden to use. How neat is that?!
Dining Options
If you don’t want to cook, that’s understandable. There are a few dining options at the resort. Some are outdoors by the pool, but there are plenty of spots to enjoy your food if you don’t want to go back to the room or sit at the restaurant.

Personal Experience
While on the guided tour of the resort, I did stop at two different spots. My first stop was at the Bonnet Bagels & Brew, which is inside the resort. This is a good spot to start your day with some breakfast and coffee, but if you’re like me and prefer popping boba drinks then this place has that too! It was the perfect mid-day treat and quite refreshing on a hot day.
After about an hour of touring the resort, I ended up at Escudos, which is a cute restaurant near one of the pools. Despite the menu’s diverse offerings, I was indecisive as to what I should pick. Ultimately, I caved in and started with the empanadas.
As a Hispanic woman, I am quite picky about empanadas, but as soon as these beauties came out, I knew I was in for a treat and I was right. The empanadas weren’t greasy, they had the right kind of crunch and the meat inside was perfect – it was neither dry nor flavorless!
After that tasty treat, I ended up getting tacos. I tried both the Grilled and Chilled Shrimp Street Tacos and the Ahi Tuna Tacos. I am not much of a seafood person, but I had to try the ahi tuna tacos.
As for the Grilled and Chilled Shrimp Street Tacos, I was pleasantly surprised! Instead of an overpowering shrimp flavor, I enjoyed a delicious blend of the shrimp with the other ingredients.
Nearby Attractions
While the Bonnet Creek Resort is enough to keep you entertained for hours, there are attractions nearby, such as Disney. But Disney isn’t the only attraction. Just a few minutes away is Universal and SeaWorld!
Overall Impressions
My time at the resort was lovely. I was rather impressed with the number of activities and entertainment that exist at this resort. Aside from that, the sun was shining after days of rain. And while it was hot, it is expected during Florida summers.
Bonnet Creek Resort is great for the whole family, providing fun activities for kids and adults. While there are many things for the kids to do, there are also activities the adults can do without the kids – rum tasting, spas, etc.. catering to solo travelers and childfree adults.
The suites are also spacious and comfortable providing a home away from home. One thing the resort does lack is space for a huge conference or wedding, but they do have space for intimate events. So while you may not be able to get married at the Bonnet Creek Resort, if you have 200+ guests, they do have a few options to host a small event.
Overall, Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort is such a fun stay with a plethora of amenities and activities for families and solo travelers alike.
