How to Earn Miles Without a Credit Card

January 28, 2014 Hanny 3 min read No Comments

Free miles are hard to come by and when you do have a chance at free miles, it’s usually filling out a survey or something that may be time consuming. When I have the time, I will do anything just to obtain those free miles, but working full-time and studying on the side gives me little to no time at all.

For someone on the go such as myself, I am always making small purchases — be it at the store or the gas station. Eventually, those purchases end up accumulating and by the end of my week, I end up with a $100 debit card charge. Now, I know what you might be thinking, I could easily just save those $100 for a future trip. Unfortunately, the small purchases I make are food and gas — two items needed to be able to drive to work, make money and survive. Luckily, I found a few websites that have helped me earn miles just by making  these simple purchases without the use of a credit card.

 Delta SkyMiles Dining

Many of the airlines award miles for every purchase made at a participating restaurant or store. Being the foodie that I am, I take advantage of the Delta SkyMiles Dining program because I have the most miles with Delta. In order to join the program, you will need a valid credit card or debit card and your Skymiles account number. This program is completely free and easy to use.

AAdvantage eShopping

Like Delta, American Airlines awards miles for every purchase made at participating stores. I rarely ever go shopping for clothes or accessories, but for those who do, this is an excellent program to join. You can earn up to 10 miles per $1, but this will quickly add on once you start making your purchases.

Debit Cards

That’s right, debit cards not credit cards. Sure credit cards can earn miles as well, but why apply to a credit card, when you can get a debit card for miles? The only process you would have to go through is registering for a debit card. There’s no credit score requirements and the annual fee is not as high. The only downside to this is that Delta is the only one with a debit card, which makes it difficult for those who do not fly with Delta obtain a debit card that can earn miles.

Evreward

This has become my new favorite site. Not only can you search which stores give you miles, but it also gives you a whole bunch of discounts. From cash backs to offers, this website has it all. If you are only in it for the miles, by all means check it out. It gives a full list of what the current offers are and how many miles are being offered.

There are plenty of ways to earn miles without the use of a credit card. These websites and programs will help you earn the miles without having to worry about your credit score, and if you happen to be someone on the go just like me, then you will absolutely benefit from these programs and earn miles as you go.
