Essentials for Florida Trip

Florida weather can be quite temperamental. One day it’s nice and sunny and the next it is pouring rain. The forecast may look great on the days you plan to visit, but unfortunately, the forecast sometimes gets it wrong. So rather than be unprepared, it’s best to be prepared and pack the essentials below.

1. Rain Jacket or Umbrella

I carry my umbrella wherever I go in Florida, but sometimes I love wearing my rain jacket, and I get quite a bit of compliments on my rain jacket. This rain jacket is quite similar to mine, and if you’re looking for a male version, this rain jacket is great.

2. Rain boots

I used to wear rain boots when I was younger, but I don’t use them now. However, I do recommend rain boots because it does tend to flood in certain areas when it rains. Rain boots are also a must if you go to the theme parks on a rainy day. If you’re looking for a good pair, these London Fog rain boots have some of the best reviews. Here are some stylish rain boots for men as well.

3. Sunscreen

When it’s not raining, the sun is blaring. We aren’t called the Sunshine State for nothing, which is why you should always carry sunscreen when in Florida or at least wear some before leaving your hotel. If you’re looking for a good one that doesn’t feel greasy, this sunscreen is the perfect choice.

4. Water bottle

It’s important to keep hydrated, especially if you’re visiting Florida! I’ve seen people get dehydrated from not drinking water, so this water bottle should do the trick and it is a must when traveling to Florida.

Below is a list of some of the electronics I can’t travel without. You can find a complete list of electronics on the printable checklist above.

1. Camera

If you have a camera, take it with you as there are plenty of photo ops in Florida. I use the Sony Alpha, which has become one of my favorites.

2. Phone

I know a few people who have forgotten to take their cell phones with them, and nowadays, a cell phone is vital when traveling, especially if you keep your boarding pass on your phone.

3. Hairstyling Tools

Most hotels will have a hairdryer, but if you need a hair straightener, you must bring that with you. The good news is that there are plenty of small hair straighteners perfect for traveling.

4. Chargers

I am that person that always forgets chargers for my electronics. If you struggle with this too, there is this awesome organizer that will help keep all your chargers in one place when you travel, that way you won’t forget.

While you can find all the accessories listed on the printable checklist, I thought I’d share a few accessories I personally love for Florida trips.

1. Sunglasses

You can’t go on a Florida trip without sunglasses. While we do have cloudy days, majority of the time it is sunny. We aren’t called the Sunshine State for nothing. If you don’t have sunglasses or looking for some awesome sunglasses to wear in Florida, I recommend the Ray-Ban Smart glasses. Not only will these keep the sun from bothering your eyes, but you can also listen to music, take photos and videos with the smart glasses. I absolutely love mine and found them useful while traveling.

If these are too expensive and just need decent sunglasses, then check out Goodr.

2. Hat

Im not much of a hat wearer, but sometimes you do need a hat in Florida because of the weather.

3. Handheld Cooling Fan

Many thanks places in Florida will have fans indoors and even outdoors to keep you cool, but it’s always a smart idea to take a portable cooling fan with you.

Whether you are traveling for a few days or a few weeks, this checklist should help you pack for your Florida trip. And if you find that you also need a good bag for your trip, the Travelon Transit Carry-On or the Kenneth Cole Luggage are some good bags that will survive your Florida trip.
