There are plenty of things to do in Florida during spring. In fact, Florida is quite a popular place for spring break, but if you’re looking to do something different outside of the typical beach visits and kayaking experience, then check out the famous food festivals.
Food festivals not only have a variety of cuisines and cocktails to try, but most of them also have live music, parades and plenty more to offer.
Famous Food Festivals in Florida
There are a number of food festivals that happen in Florida, but not all of them occur at the same time or during the same season. While there are a bunch of small festivals that occur during the springtime, the below focuses on well-known festivals occurring during spring.
St. Augustine Food + Wine Festival
Date: May 8-12, 2024
Location: Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, 1 World Golf Pl., St. Augustine
Named one of the top 10 Food and Wine Festivals in Florida, the St. Augustine Food + Wine Festival is an annual celebration showcasing beverages and cuisines that highlight local chefs, celebrity guest chefs and more.
Here you’ll find cooking demos, a variety of unlimited wine, beer and spirits, celebrity chef dinners and live music.
Tampa Bay Wine and Food Festival
Date: April 09-14, 2024
Cost: varies, depends on the event you attend and date.
Location: Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park: 600 North Ashley Drive Tampa, Florida 33602
If you find yourself in Tampa during Springtime, then check out the Tampa Bay Wine and Food Festival. It is the region’s most anticipated culinary event and an unforgettable event for foodies out there.
Aside from the usual fun, there will be a new “Experience Water Street” event. This festival also has chef showdown competitions and a celebrity chef in attendance. There are five separate ticketed events and the festival continues to support EAT SMART campaign, a 501 ©(3) nonprofit program that provides healthy meals and nutritional guidance to the local community and Florida’s youth through programs.
Date: February 3 – April 7, 2024
Cost: varies, depending on the pass you get and extras.
Location: Universal Orlando, spread out throughout the different parks
While this doesn’t start in Springtime, it does end during spring. The International Flavors of Carnaval at Universal Orlando is such a fun way to try foods from around the world, while also celebrating Mardi Gras. Aside from food, they also have a float parade and live concerts. As an annual pass holder, I had the opportunity to ride on the float throwing beads out for free. This is a first come, first serve so you will want to reserve your spot as soon as you get the email if they have it this year.
Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando
Date: February 02 – May 19, 2024
Location: SeaWorld Orlando
If you’re looking to go to a theme park during the spring, check out SeaWorld! While they have some great rides, they also have the Seven Seas Food Festival, which is quite a wonderful festival full of food and fun. Here you’ll find over 50 wine and cocktail selection as well as 50+ unique eats.
Discover unique Asian, Latin, European, Polynesian and North Atlantic dishes throughout the park. SeaWorld has their menu up for 2024, and they also have their concert lineup listed as well. Concerts are free with park admission, but the food and drinks are a separate cost. You can save with their sampler lanyard, if you’re looking to try more than one dish and drink.
International Cuban Sandwich Festival
Date: May 26, 2024
Location: Tampa, Historic Ybor City
Try the best Cuban sandwiches from chefs and contestants from around the world. There is also live music and cultural entertainment.
Unlike the others, this only happens for one day. So if you’re in Tampa around this time, check it out.
