November 2, 2021 Hanny 4 min read No Comments

Have you ever wanted to escape reality only to step inside a whimsical wonderland? This is what you’ll get when you visit Fairgrounds St. Pete.

This must-see immersive art exhibit is a 15,000 square foot artist-made environment. Over 60 artists were commissioned to make the art you see at the Fairgrounds St. Pete. Each room and space is designed to transport you into a whimsical wonderland, where you get to choose your own adventure.

Located in St. Pete’s Warehouse Arts District, Fairgrounds St. Pete can be found at The Factory.

The Rooms in Fairgrounds St. Pete

When entering the Fairgrounds St. Pete, you create your own adventure. My personal adventure started out with the Mermaid Star Motel Neon sign and from there I chose the first room to go to.

The Pink Room

St Pete

I’ve been calling it the pink room, but the actual name for this room is the Sunnymooner’s Suite. This room has a mysterious orb on the bed, a retro telephone, a TV and a suite case full of clothes. If you look closely however, you may find clues to solve a mystery within the Fairgrounds.

The Lobby

St Pete

You can’t have a motel without a lobby. This made it feel very much like a motel with its rack full of Fake Florida attraction brochures, a TV, a desk with a guest book and a place to hang motel keys from.

The Pool

St Pete

Near the lobby is the pool area with its lounge chairs. This part is quite amazing with its starry night and sensors that will trigger the wall of eyes, while you walk by.

There’s also a giant kaleidoscope you can look through, which shows some awesome neon patterns.

The Mermaid Dressing Room

This was a cute room full of seashells adorning the walls with a mirror that gives you an octopus body. There’s also a beautiful vanity with more seashell details there as well.

The Lampscape Room

This was a pretty cool room with lamps that would change colors. This room came pretty close to being my favorite, but my favorite one turns out to be The Strawberry Room.

The Strawberry Room

St Pete

This was heaven on earth for me! The divine smell in the room, the tasty looking desserts, the strawberry chair, and the fancy picnic. Everything in this room made my mouth water.

Although I listed quite a few rooms, there’s still plenty of rooms to explore in the Fairgrounds! This place is not only the most instagrammable indoor exhibit, but it is also fun to explore the many areas of the Fairgrounds and everything it has to offer.

What to Expect

You get to create your own adventure while you’re inside the Fairgrounds St. Pete. There are various rooms for you to explore and even the open space is fully immersed in art. It’s an impressive exhibit and it’s the perfect place for photos.
Expect to be:

  • Charmed by the immersive art and technology
  • Entertained
  • Full of great photos

Aside from being interactive, there’s also mysteries to be discovered in the Fairgrounds St. Pete. Each room tells a different story, but some have hints and clues that will help you solve a mystery within the Fairgrounds. Other rooms have drawers to explore and funny brochures to look at.

So while you may want to take a whole bunch of photos, don’t forget to also look for those clues or admire the details the artists have put into each room.
