Every year in Orlando, we have Bite30, which encourages diners to enjoy innovative dishes and fine dining for $30. Dinner menus are set at this fixed price for three or more courses and about 30+ restaurants offer this for a whole month.
This year however, it’s been hard going into restaurants due to COVID-19, but we still have the opportunity to enjoy Bite30 and that’s exactly what I did this month.
This month, my friend and I decided to go to Maxine’s on Shine. We chose to go to Maxine’s not just because the meals looked delicious, but also because they had outside seating.
Maxine’s has a nice patio outside of the restaurant, but they also added private cabanas on the side of the restaurant to provide more space to customers practicing social distance.
Upon arrival, There were outside musicians. Not only was the seating arrangement great, but they also had live music. My friend and I sat at one of the cabanas away from others and ordered our Bite30 meals.
For my first meal, I decided to get the Fried Green Tomatoes and Crab Cake Combo. I love Fried Green Tomatoes and these definitely did not disappoint. I also got the Crab Cake, which I’m not a huge fan, but after trying Maxine’s Crab Cake, I am now a fan.
The next thing I ended up having is their steak and potatoes. I do love a good steak and this was absolutely wonderful. The potatoes were also very tasty.
I was very impressed with the meals, the cabana set up, the live music and the staff. It was such a good time. I did have to take my dessert to go, but was happy to arrive home with some delicious bread pudding!
Overall my experience was great! I got to dine outside and practiced social distancing. Due to the situation with the pandemic, they do also offer take out of Bite30, which is great for anyone not wanting to stay at the restaurant.
If you do decide to go to Maxine’s, you will need to find parking on the street, which wasn’t too hard as there was plenty of space.
