If you’re looking for something to do this holiday season, then check out the Asian Lantern Festival: Into the Wild at the Central Florida Zoo.
Adorned with hundreds of hand-constructed lanterns, which are lit by more than 10,000 LED lights, the Festival will be running until January 16, 2022.
Anyone who would like to see this beautiful display of color, light, and sound will need to purchase a ticket to the Asian Lantern Festival. A zoo ticket is not required for this event.

Asian Lantern Festival: Into the Wild
For the second year, Central Florida Zoo has once again brought the beauty of the Asian Lantern Festival to Florida. This Festival not only allows guests to celebrate the holiday season but also to learn more about the traditions of Asian Lantern Festivals.
From a huge dragon display to beautiful rows of illuminated flowers, here’s what you can expect at the Asian Lantern Festival.

Admission and Hours
Unlike the zoo, the Asian Lantern Festival occurs during the evening starting at 6 PM From 6 PM to 10 PM, you are able to walk around admiring all the beautiful displays that the 3/4 trek through the zoo offers. The final entry into the event is at 9:15 PM.
Since this event occurs after zoo hours, a ticket for this event will need to be purchased. Zoo tickets do not include admission to this event.
The admission cost is as follows:
General Admission: $18.50 per person
Special Ticket 4-Pack: $50.00
Zoo Annual Pass Holders: $15.50 per person
Children 2 and under: Free

Food and Drinks
When going to the Festival, you will find food vendors around the zoo. From hot cocoa to egg rolls, there’s a variety of food to choose from.
There are also the wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase. You will not be able to take in any food or drinks, but the options they have inside the event are quite delicious!

Other Information
- The parking is free
- You will not see any zoo animals during the event.
- Any usual zoo attractions such as the carousels will only run during zoo hours.
- Rain or shine – there are no refunds for purchased tickets.
- Only service animals are permitted.
The Festival was quite wonderful to attend. The food and drinks were good, and the displays were lovely. This event does take place outdoors, so I definitely recommend taking an umbrella in case it rains.
