Apps of the Week for the Working Traveler

August 2, 2015 Hanny 2 min read No Comments

Travel Apps are great tools to have, especially as a traveler. However, as someone who works and travels, it is important for me to keep all of my work in order as well as all of my travel plans organized. The following apps have been great additions to my travel apps and has definitely helped me with my work and travels.

App

1) TripIt

During one of my jobs, I had to go to different cities to oversee and prepare meal packaging events. TripIt was one of the apps I used to get my itinerary organized, especially with all the different cities I had to go to. TripIt also has other features such as storing travel documents in one place, sharing travel plans, syncing travel plans with your calendar, receiving real-time flight alerts, getting fare refund notifications and so much more.

TripIt has two packages: The first one is the TripIt basic, which is completely free and the second one is the TripIt Pro, which is $4.09 a month.

App available for: iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry.

App

2) Evernote

As a writer, I have thousands of stories, ideas and information that I need to write down. However, none of this would be possible without Evernote. This handy app allows me to take notes, get organized by tracking my tasks, share my ideas and save things I find online. Evernote also has a great product called Scannable that allows me to scan important documents to send or save on my phone.

Evernote has three packages:

Basic, which is free

Plus, which is $24.99 per year

Premium, which is $49.99 per year

App available for: iOS and Android.

App

3) Hailo

Hailo is a great app to get a taxi to come to you. Instead of chasing down a taxi with a bunch of luggages in hand, Hailo allows you to get a taxi in two taps. Currently, Hailo is in some parts of Europe and Asia.

App available for: iOS and Android.

App

4) DocuSign

Since I work with people in other countries, there are times when they send me something to sign. However, most of the time I am unable to get on my computer due to my on-the-go schedule. This app allows me to electronically sign the documents, add who needs to sign and keep a copy of the document.

DocuSign has four different plans as well as a free version:

Individual Plan: $10 a month

Realtors Plus: $20 per user, per month

Business: $30 per user, per month

Business Premium: $125 per user, per month

They also have the DocuSign free version, which limits the amount of papers you can sign as well as the use of most features.

App available for: iOS, Android, and Windows.
