Before the pandemic, I had no plans to take online courses. There just wasn’t enough time in my day to fit online courses. That is until the pandemic came hurling towards the U.S. With the stay at home orders, it made it easier for me to take online courses, and decided to take them to help grow my blog.
Although there are many great online courses out there, I focused my attention on taking free online courses. Some were recommended to me by other fellow bloggers and others were just courses I thought would help me with my growth.
Best Free Online Courses for Bloggers
As bloggers, we take images to compliment our posts, but many of us could use some tips when it comes to photography. Here are a few I recommend.
Not only is this course free, but you can also get a diploma once you are done with the course (Of course, you will need to pay if you want to get the diploma, but you can take the courses free).
Skillshare has plenty of different courses, but they also have photography classes perfect for bloggers. You can try them out for 14 days with unlimited classes.
Lynda has a variety of photography course and offer a free month for signing up.
You usually need to pay for the Great Courses, but through StackSocial, you can get a Free Trial, where you can learn anything. They also have some great courses on photography.
Even though I am a blogger, it doesn’t mean I am perfect with my writing. That’s why I find writing classes so helpful! I even took a course in novel writing, so that I could be prepared in writing my own book.
Udemy has some great writing courses and this is one of them. This helps identify your unique voice all while crafting effective writing.
This was such an informative class and it gave me the push I needed to finally start writing my novel! I’ve seen many bloggers writing books, so this can help anyone looking to write a book.
This is another Coursera class, but this one only gives you a 7 day free trial into the class. However, it’s very informative and provides a lot of useful tips on editing.
Learning how to design your website and how to design anything really can be a pain. Thankfully, there’s some great instructors that guide you through the process.
Canva is my favorite tool to use to create beautiful blog headers. Aside from being such a great tool for bloggers, they also have free graphic design courses!
Originally $49 a month, this course is free for 4 weeks. You will learn everything from editing to custom layouts.
If you are new to blogging are wanting to improve your skills when it comes to blogging, these free courses will help you do just that.
Aside from getting a free course, they will also help you setup your blog for free. It’s a great way to learn how to blog and also get a setup.
If you want to make money from your blog, this is a great course to take.
SEO can be a little complicating, if you don’t know the first thing of SEO. Luckily, there’s free classes that will guide you through SEO.
This course will help you understand your readers, climb directly to the top of search engine rankings, and more.
This is a free 6 part video series that will teach you about SEO.
Hubspot has some free SEO courses as well as a Content Marketing Certification that goes over SEO as well.
This isn’t so much of a course, but more of a guide. You will need to do a lot of reading, but you will definitely learn a lot.
There’s plenty of free online courses you can take to improve your blogging skills and also many free resources.
